Daft Punk - Random Access Memories (Vanderway Edit)

Few words can describe how incredible this track is. All the groove, funk, and dance that derive from this song simply make it unbelievable. We will leave it to you to judge the power of these beats and the great influence that Daft Punk has had on the music of today. 

Vanderway has certainly done a good job at making this edit, one that, judging by the looks of the many comments it has received, will be a very popular one for a while. We shall wait and see how much we will like Daft Punk’s upcoming album, which (by the way) can now be pre-ordered on iTunes.

Paul Simon - You Can Call Me Al (Flight Facilities Edit)

In case you haven’t noticed yet, Le Salon has been going pretty retro lately. I mean, Buena Vista Social Club, Neil Young, and now this… It’s hard to explain, but the fact of the matter is that when Flight Facilities and Paul Simon come together, we need no justification for posting such a track. The combination is simply great. The original sounds were kept intact, but the edit certainly made it a whole lot more appealing to the younger audience. For those of us who enjoy being transported to the past every once in a while, this is sort of a trophy, a reward for being loyal to the classics. Flight Facilities have never seized to impress, and with this small part of their 1982-1992 mixtape they have reached the very top. They even edited a video for the song themselves! 

This is a true piece of work. Enjoy!

Air Castles – Broken Watches (Mira Lykke Remix)

We know, it has been a long and lonely week without us around, but we also have our breaks and we also need the holidays every now and then. We do, however, want to compensate for our lack of presence and would like to introduce you to a young duo from Berlin whose tracks are well worth a listen – and much more than that, actually. Mira Lykke has accomplished to create sounds that go along with the techno groove of today, but ones which carry a brilliant, funky and electronic spin with them.

More importantly, their songs are up for free download on their SoundCloud, one that you certainly should be checking out as you read this… do try and work that out.

Alt-J - Tessalate (Derek Haze Edit)

Alt-J is incredible, we all know that. Their music is known, their sounds are catchy, and the atmosphere their tracks create is inexplicable. These boys have been around for a while and ever since they came to light, their popularity has not seized to increase.

This edit comes from Berlin through the work of Derek Haze. The rework extends the track and gives it a slower and deeper feel that is sure to get you in the right mood. Derek Haze definitely has talent so make sure you check out his other work.

Frank Alcock (BAH!) - O I A A

In our effort to bring the best and freshest beats to you each week, we have encountered an incredible track, all the way from South America, that will undoubtedly be pleasant to listen to - to say the least. Frank Alcock , aka BAH!, is a current student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and he is rising to become a very interesting artist, certainly worth following.

I came across this tune in The Magicians latest Magic Tape 30 and let me tell you that the song’s name describes it best: Gold. Moon Boots Remix of   Lancaster’s duo’s tune is nothing short of spectacular. A great tune for any occasion!
